About PNG to DXF
Laser cutters, CNC routers and plasma tables need outlines, not pixels. A DXF holds those outlines as lines and curves your machine software (LightBurn, RDWorks, Fusion 360, VCarve) can follow.
This converter traces your PNG into closed shapes, puts each colour on its own layer, and writes shared edges once, so the laser doesn't cut the same line twice and burn the edge.
Tips for the best result
Black & white for cutting
Most cut files are one colour. Black & white gives the cleanest single layer.
Single line for engraving
For engraving lines, choose Single line: each stroke becomes one path along its middle instead of an outline.
Set the size in your software
DXF has no fixed scale. Set the final size in LightBurn or your CAM software after importing.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes. Converting and downloading is free, with no signup and no watermark. Everything runs in your browser, so there's no queue and no daily limit.
Does it work with LightBurn?
Yes. Import the DXF in LightBurn, and each colour arrives on its own layer, ready to assign cut or engrave settings.
Will the outlines be closed?
Yes. Filled shapes are traced as closed outlines, which is what cut and fill operations need.
Can I get SVG instead?
Yes. LightBurn, Glowforge and xTool all read SVG too, and you can download either from the same result.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Your browser does the conversion on your own device, so the file never reaches our server. That also makes it fast: there's no upload or download wait.
